Team Global Express Secures $480M Partnership with Texel Air, Expands Fleet

Logistics giant Team Global Express has unveiled a significant $480 million partnership with trans-Tasman cargo airline Texel Air Australasia. This seven-year deal has added four upgraded Boeing 737-800 BCF freighter aircraft to the company’s domestic fleet, replacing older models and boosting cargo capacity by an additional 4000kg.

Commencing in June, this partnership has also created 59 new jobs in Australia, including 39 in the Queensland operations hub. With an extensive network covering rail, road, air, and sea, Team Global Express now operates 520 domestic flights weekly, delivering to 95 per cent of Australia within 48 hours. CEO Christine Holgate emphasised the importance of air freight in connecting remote areas and ensuring timely delivery of essential goods, highlighting the enhanced capabilities and efficiency of the new aircraft.

The announcement follows closely on the heels of another recent development, where Team Global Express will handle parcel deliveries for Australian customers of European company DPD UK. Holgate expressed confidence that the new Boeings will enable tighter delivery schedules, reinforcing the company’s commitment to being the fastest parcel operator in Australia. The upgraded aircraft, with improved fuel efficiency and cargo capacity, represent a significant step forward in reducing fuel consumption and enhancing service delivery across the country.
