The National Load Restraint Guide gives guidance for when restraining IBC pallets.
- Block IBCs in the forward direction wherever possible.
- When a headboard is not available, use crossover straps to block the load.
- Place IBCs that have low-friction bases on timber or rubber surfaces to improve friction.
- Tegral stocks a range of friction mat sizes & can cut to specific dimensions. Click here.
- Use empty pallets tied down to fill gaps in loads.
- IBCs placed directly on a steel deck and not blocked in the forward direction require many lashings for safe transport, which may be impractical. Multiple lashings applied to IBCs may crush or damage the container.
