The Central Coast Highway will undergo a $65.5 million upgrade, funded by the Australian and NSW governments. This project targets the stretch between Wamberal and Bateau Bay, used by 26,000 motorists daily, including 1,000 heavy vehicles. Key upgrades include replacing the Tumbi Road roundabout with traffic lights and widening the highway to two lanes in each direction up to the Forresters Beach Garden Centre. These improvements aim to reduce traffic delays, queuing, and enhance safety and reliability. Federal Minister Catherine King highlighted the commitment to addressing one of the region’s most congested intersections. Transport for NSW is inviting contractors to express interest in the project, with preliminary works already completed. The Australian Government has committed $52.4 million to this transformative upgrade.
